Executive MBA welcome this week former President and CEO of the defence group TASC Inc. (5000 employees, 1.5 billion US$ turnover), David H.Langstaff, to its Paris campus.

Previously, Mr. Langstaff was Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer and Director of Veridian Corporation until its sale to General Dynamics in August 2003; its IPO was recognized by the Financial Times as one of the ten best global IPOs in 2002.

Originally from Colorado, David Langstaff is a Harvard graduate. He has managed several businesses in the United States and is now a leading member of the global Aspen Institute network; he is a senior moderator of values-based leadership seminars for the Aspen Institute and chairs its Business and Society Program Advisory Board.

David spoke to the EDHEC Executive MBA class in Paris for 4 days on the topic of ‘Enlightened and Effective Leadership’. Adopting the ASPEN method based on the Socratic principle of group dialogue and discussion,David Langstaff helped all those present to reflect on and further their own leadership style. Using various supports, including texts from ancient and modern literature, videos and concrete case studies, he explored the issue of effective leadership from a new angle, quite different from traditional courses, but also concrete and directly applicable to today’s business environment.
