Chairman Emeritus of Michelin, Mr Eric Bourdais de Charbonnire gave an insightful commencement address to the MBA class of 2013 at their recent graduation ceremony. Graduates of both the full time Global MBA and the executive MBA were joined with friends families, professors and MBA staff to celebrate their success and the official end to their programme.

In his address, Mr Bourdais de Charbonnière said that during his career – at JP Morgan in New York and later at Michelin, France – he let his personal values guide him. And while this philosophy surprised some of his colleagues, he said he felt more satisfied with his work and therefore more full-filled. “Three quarters of mergers fail because the values of the two companies are not compatible,” he said. “The same goes for you: There must be an alignment between your values and the company’s values.”

EDHEC administrators – EDHEC Dean Olivier Oger, Director of EDHEC Executive Education and MBAs Benoit Arnaud, Director of Executive MBA Denis Dauchy, and Director of Global MBA Emmanuel Métais – were also present to congratulate the new graduates and confer degrees.
Global MBA graduate Mili Cornejo of Peru commented her MBA experience, “I didn’t believe that the EDHEC Global MBA would truly change my life, but it has done just that. The feedback that I received from my professors and fellow classmates was instrumental in this transformation. Today, I feel even more confident about my ability to manage.”
EDHEC’s MBA programmes consistently rank among the best in the world: In 2013, The Economist ranked the EDHEC Global MBA 3rd in France for overall excellence and 4th in the world for student diversity. Last year, the Financial Times ranked EDHEC’s executive programmes 23rd in the world. EDHEC’s MBA programmes offer students a unique educational experience that focuses on personal growth and career development.
