EDHEC began the year by seeing its social and environmental commitments recognised by obtaining the SD&SR (Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility) label. This label, specific to higher education, was initiated in 2015 by a collective coordinated by France Universités and the Conférence des grandes écoles. It is the main tool for assessing the societal commitment of higher education and research establishments. The framework used is based on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to assess initiatives in 5 areas (strategy and governance, education and training, research and innovation, environment and social policy).

A structured and collective approach

EDHEC has been rewarded for its approach to social and environmental responsibility. It is structured around five pillars: research, education, diversity and inclusion, campuses and a cross-cutting pillar.
In research, for example, 25% of academic output in 22-23 was devoted to social and environmental issues. In the education pillar, efforts are focused on raising awareness of transition issues among 100% of students via courses, specific programmes (e.g. the MSc Climate change and sustainable finance or the MSc in Global and sustainable business) or dedicated challenges, as well as on supporting incubated startups towards responsibility criteria that are the subject of a specific methodology. EDHEC is committed to reducing its carbon footprint through a wide range of actions and to promoting biodiversity on its campuses.  In the diversity and inclusion pillar, numerous social measures such as ambitious scholarship programmes aim to promote the inclusion of all.
EDHEC will continue to mobilise its community in order to pursue and accelerate its efforts to integrate SDRS issues into all its operations and programmes over the coming months and years.
