EDHEC Business School: new academic year 2018/2019
Welcome to 2018/2019 Academic Year
Successively in Lille, Nice and Paris, nearly all of our new students have surfed on a wave of activities sweeping the EDHEC campuses: from icebreaking workshops to keynote speakers, the most expected one being the 25-hour hackathon.
To greet our students, EDHEC Business School invites keynotes speakers from corporate sponsors (like Société Générale, Publicis and Rothschild), organizes visits to entrepreneurial ecosystems (like Euratechnologies, an 80 000m² business accelerator and incubator) and sets icebreaker sessions with theater companies, a photo challenge and even a set of 12 “Olympic Games”, giant table football included. Several forums welcome newcomers and introduce them to the range of opportunities they can take advantage of during their studies: sports, student associations, careers, social life, etc. Want some bonus? An AR treasure hunt, improv workshops, talks with Alumni entrepreneurs and international faculty…
All these initiatives are essential to the school’s academic priorities. “From their very first day at EDHEC, we encourage students to capitalize on all of the learning and socializing opportunities across our campuses” says Emmanuel Métais, Dean of EDHEC Business School. “Gathering the broad expertise of faculty with students to address local and global challenges in innovative ways is a critical aspect of the whole student’s experience”.

Did you say a 25-hour hackathon?
Moreover and without any doubt, the everlasting memory will be the hackathon. During 25 hours, students will plunge into reflection to creatively resolve society major issues like migration, sustainability, environment... and learn the challenges of entrepreneurs in terms of posture, resources and methodology. 36 coaches, most of whom decided time ago to dive into the startup lifestyle, will accompany them during the 25-hour nonstop creative session. Along the coaches, current students from the BDE (Bureau of Students) and staff members will be supporting the hackathon.
Unforgettable event at the beginning of their EDHEC journey, this hackathon is conceived as both an innovative educational experience and a real opportunity to discover the business world in a festive and learning-by-doing ambiance.
