EDHEC participates in the "Leader Generation" film series
EDHEC Business School participates in Leader Generation, a film series to be broadcast from February 2025. Produced by BBC StoryWorks, in partnership with AACSB, it highlights 18 higher education institutions around the world and their role in developing responsible leaders. Emmanuel Métais, Dean of EDHEC Business School, the founder of the startup Dooda, Aziz Kaouech (EDHEC 2018) and Thomas B. Long, Associate Professor of Responsible Entrepreneurship at EDHEC, appear in the film "Feeding the planet more responsibly", shot on the school's Lille campus.
Leader Generation is a partnership between AACSB, the leading American accreditation body, and BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions. It features 18 campuses of schools and universities around the world. The videos illustrate how business schools enable students to develop the skills and awareness needed to positively transform the business world. EDHEC, ranked for the third year running in the Financial Times Top 10 European business schools, is one of two French schools and four European schools to be featured.
Emmanuel Métais, Dean of EDHEC, is featured in the film "Feeding the Planet More Responsibly", where he discusses EDHEC's commitment to addressing today's challenges: "The EDHEC film highlights the efforts made by our professors, students and alumni to solve some of the century's biggest problems: climate crises, social change, health disparities and economic instability. At EDHEC, we are committed to making a positive impact on future generations. We are delighted by the successes already achieved by our community and look forward to seeing what our students and graduates will achieve next."
The film also features Aziz Kaouech, an EDHEC graduate (MSc Risk & Finance, 2018; EDHEC Entrepreneurs, 2023) and co-founder of the startup Dooda, and Thomas B. Long, associate professor and expert in sustainable strategies and net positive business models. This theme is in line with the school's strategic plan, Generations 2050, which this year includes the opening of a centre for net positive businesses.
Aziz Kaouech travelled to Tunisia with the film crew to capture images of the production site of Dooda, an innovative company that transforms beetle larvae into sustainable animal feed. It creates local jobs and contributes to the country's economic development, while exporting its products to Europe. The documentary also follows him on the EDHEC campus in Lille, where he offers case studies to students on the MSc in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Alongside Thomas B. Long, he analyses the challenges involved in launching a sustainable start-up and creating responsible business models aimed at reducing poverty and offering food alternatives. Finally, the film also features EDHEC's presence at its Paris campus and STATION F, the world's largest start-up hub.
