2020 was a challenging year, characterised by the impact of covid-19 on the employment market due to lockdowns, furlough schemes, bans on travel, and economic uncertainty. Despite this, the placement of our students in the Class of 2020 was very satisfactory and in line with previous years.

In the case of the Masters Programme, 57% landed a job during or less than 1 month after leaving school and 93% chose a job in line with their career objectives. Sustainability and social impact are topics of increasing importance to our students, and 29% of graduates reported that their jobs involved CSR-related missions. Some graduates took longer than in previous years to secure employment but 53% landed a job through the EDHEC Career Centre and the overall EDHEC community. The Class of 2020 is placed in 45 countries and 35% of the placement is outside of France. The international mobility, understood as the percentage of graduates working outside their home countries, is 60% for international graduates and 23% for French graduates. The main locations include France, UK, China, Germany and Luxembourg. In terms of functions, 37% of graduates work in finance, 16% in consulting, 15% in business development and 12% in marketing. The top 3 industries are financial institutions (25%), consulting (14%) and telecommunications & hi-tech (9%). Finally, 15% of the Class chose to join a Graduate Programme and almost 1/3 work in start-ups and small- or medium-sized companies.

The placement of the Financial Economics Masters Class of 2020 was also very satisfactory: 53% landed a job before leaving school and 94% chose a job in line with their career objectives. 31% of graduates have missions related to sustainable, green finance. 57% landed a job through the EDHEC Career Centre and the overall EDHEC community. The Class of 2020 is placed in 28 countries and 56% of the placements are outside of France. International mobility is 49% overall, 60% if we consider international graduates only, and 41% for French graduates. The main locations include France, UK, China, Luxembourg, and Germany. As to be expected, 80% of graduates work in finance functions (including: 39% corporate finance and private equity, 17% buyside, 14% audit and transaction services, and 12% sellside) and 12% work in consulting. The top 3 industries are banking (57%), audit (13%) and consulting (8%). 19% of the Class chose to join a Graduate Programme.

Finally, in the case of the BBA Programme, 65% of the class chose to pursue studies, in France and abroad, in prestigious  B-Schools and universities such as EDHEC, Cass, ESADE, Hult, IE, Imperial College, LBS, Maastricht, NUS, and UCLA. Those who decided to enter the employment market did so successfully: 51% landed a job before leaving school,  94% chose a job in line with their career objectives, and 15% created their own companies or joined their family businesses. While some graduates took longer than in previous years to secure employment, 53% landed a job through the EDHEC Career Centre and the overall EDHEC community. The international mobility, understood as the percentage of graduates working outside their home countries, is 32%, and 73% if we consider international graduates only. The main locations include Canada, China, France, Luxembourg, Monaco, Switzerland, Thailand, UAE, the UK, and the US. Top 3 functions include business development (25%), marketing (22%) and business unit management (16%) and the top 3 industries are retail & e-commerce (17%), media (14%) and financial services (12%). The top employers of the BBA Class of 2020 were: Carrefour, Chanel, Deloitte, Grant Thornton, KPMG, and Societe Generale.

So EDHEC graduates managed to fully embrace the global job market trends as evidenced by a placement reflecting a strong diversity of backgrounds and objectives and by securing their first jobs in a wide spectrum of sectors and functions all over the world.
