A project addressing the challenges of digital transformation
Launched in 2022 as part of the France 2030 Cybersecurity Research Programme (PEPR), the IPoP (Interdisciplinary Project on Privacy) initiative is led by Inria and brings together key players in European research, including CNRS, INSA, leading universities, and the EDHEC Augmented Law Institute at EDHEC Business School. The CNIL is also a key partner in the project.
This large-scale initiative mobilises over 70 researchers from a dozen institutions to address a shared challenge: anticipating and countering evolving threats to cybersecurity and privacy in a world where artificial intelligence is reshaping technological and ethical paradigms.
Bringing together experts from computer science, social sciences, economics, engineering, and law, the project focuses on regulating data protection in the face of AI advancements. It integrates key regulatory frameworks, such as the GDPR (led by the CNIL) and the AI Act, which came into force in 2024. This multidisciplinary collaboration helps shape European regulatory recommendations tailored to tomorrow’s challenges.
