The Pillars of Excellence at EDHEC

Cloé attributes EDHEC’s excellence to three core pillars: academic faculty, international opportunities, and the Career Centre.

•    Academic Faculty and Industry Experts: EDHEC’s Faculty comprises dedicated educators and industry professionals who challenge students to understand the dynamic global landscape and its impact on their future careers. Cloé notes, We benefit from faculty members and experts constantly challenging us about how the world evolves and what it means for our professional journeys.

•    International Dimension: Partnerships with leading global universities allow students to access top-ranked institutions. This international exposure equips students with a global perspective, a key asset in today’s interconnected financial world.

•    Career Support: EDHEC’s Career Centre plays a key role by organising events with top companies, facilitating direct connections with industry leaders, and offering coaching sessions to prepare students for the competitive job market.

Together, these elements create an environment that promotes academic, professional, and personal excellence.

Pursuing the MSc in Accounting & Finance: A Natural Choice

Cloé’s decision to pursue a Master’s degree was shaped by her evolving career aspirations. Initially uncertain about her path, she credits her final internship during her bachelor’s degree at EDHEC with helping her discover her passion for audit and accounting.

That internship was the turning point of my academic journey as it allowed me to define my professional objectives,” she explains.

The MSc in Accounting & Finance emerged as the perfect fit, offering a curriculum aligned with her career goals. Core courses such as audit and internal control, international accounting, and financial accounting provided the foundation for her role as a junior auditor.

This MSc was tailored to my ambition to become an auditor, and the knowledge I gained has been directly applicable in my current role,” she adds.

EDHEC: A Launchpad for Success

Cloé’s choice to remain at EDHEC for her Master’s was influenced by her positive undergraduate experience and the institution’s global reputation. The EDHEC Master in Finance ranks #6 worldwide, a recognition that carries significant value in the job market, she notes.

The MSc in Accounting & Finance caters to students aspiring to a wide array of careers in finance. The programme covers topics from international accounting to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and sustainable finance, equipping graduates to navigate the complexities of the modern financial sector. Cloé describes it as a rigorous and dynamic programme designed to prepare students for real-world challenges.

Career Success and Professional Growth

Currently working as a Junior Auditor at PwC, Cloé reflects on how her education prepared her for the role. As a junior auditor, I analyse and review companies' financial statements to ensure compliance with specific accounting standards,” she explains. The technical expertise and soft skills developed during her MSc have been instrumental in her professional journey.

For students aspiring to a successful career, Cloé offers practical advice: Be curious and explore the various career opportunities available. Once you find something that excites and challenges you, invest time and effort to become an expert. Resilience and a positive mindset are key to navigating the evolving professional landscape.

Personal Reflections and Memories

Cloé’s time at EDHEC was marked by academic achievements and unforgettable experiences. Among her fondest memories is the Bachelor's Celebration, which brought together classmates from diverse locations to commemorate the culmination of their journey. It was a milestone, celebrating four years across three different universities, she recalls.

Her gratitude extends to the Faculty, particularly Professor Moïse Louisy-Louis, whose advice and industry expertise left a lasting impact. She also highlights the value of advanced financial accounting courses, which deepened her understanding of complex accounting rules and their implications.

Advice for Future Students

For those contemplating their academic path, Cloé emphasises the importance of research and dialogue. Discussing with students already in the programme helped me identify the MSc that aligned with my career goals, she advises. She encourages prospective students to take advantage of EDHEC’s diverse offerings and tailor their education to their aspirations.
