EDHEC Business School was awarded First Place in the insendi-sponsored FOME Learning Design Innovation Awards at the annual FOME Alliance conference Dec. 3-6 at the Luiss Business School in Rome, Italy.
Judges congratulated EDHEC for its impressive case study about a stand-alone, problem-based learning scenario that uses an AI teaching assistant to help online students understand the root of a problem. A case study led by Marie-Cécile Cervellon, Professor of Marketing and Director of the Marketing Department, with Loick Menvielle, Professor of Marketing and Director of the Management in innovative Health Chair and Léna Griset, Teaching Assistant. EDHEC’s submission was judged alongside those submitted by other FOME (Future of Management Education) members, including Imperial College Business School (London) and ESMT Berlin, which placed Second and Third, respectively.
EDHEC is a founding member of the FOME Alliance, which brings together 12 of the world’s top business schools to transform online pedagogies and digital assessment, leverage the power of content sharing and virtual exchange, design ambitious global degree programmes, and conduct evidence-based research on digital learning. FOME works with insendi, an innovative online learning platform.
A teaching approach in line with the challenges of e-learning
Members of the alliance met in Rome in December to discuss important industry topics, including Generative AI, strategic business partnerships, and learning technology innovations. The FOME Learning Design Innovation Awards, which recognize intelligent, well-crafted pedagogical designs for online and blended learning, were held during the conference, with votes cast by participants.
“Conference participants were impressed by the innovative nature of EDHEC’s online case study and by the strength of the teamwork behind it,” said Benoit Arnaud, Dean of Programmes at EDHEC, who represented the school at the conference. “They congratulated EDHEC on the concrete pedagogical impact of this learning tool for online learners.”
Present to receive the First Place award were Roland Fines, CTO at EDHEC Online, Joanna Szuda, Head of Digital Learning Production at EDHEC Online, and Andreea Floricel, a learning designer at EDHEC Online, which is EDHEC’s digital degree and certificate platform.
“The Learning Design Awards was a wonderful way to showcase the innovative and remarkable work happening across the alliance on the insendi platform,” remarked Jess Hardy, Senior Learning Experience Designer at insendi.
EDHEC was one of the first European business schools to launch a 100% digital learning platform. Today, EDHEC Online offers a range of bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as certificates and MOOCs.
