EDHEC MBA begin the new academic year
Welcomed by Denis Dauchy, EDHEC EMBA Director in Lille, and Philippe Foulquier, EDHEC EMBA Director in Paris, the two groups from Lille and Paris met yesterday for the first time to take part in the traditional induction week. The new group joined the 2016 EDHEC Executive MBA intake, making a total of 74 participants, including 18% from abroad.
With an average age of 39 and an average career spanning 12 years, the participants come from a wide range of sectors that include local firms like Rabot Dutilleul, OVH and the Pôle Régional Numérique, as well as major international groups like Danone, Lagardère, the FNAC, Gan Assurance, Lidl, Dexia, Bureau Veritas, Société Générale and Capgemini. Most of the participants hold core management or consulting positions. While individual professional goals vary considerably at the start of the current academic year, everyone shares the same determination to grow their skills in key business areas and, above all, to give their career new momentum.
The day kicked off with an introductory talk by Benoit Arnaud, EDHEC Executive Education and MBA Director. After a brief overview of EDHEC’s different research and teaching activities, he presented EDHEC‘s unique model as “a school created over 100 years ago by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs”, explaining the reasons for its rapid development in recent years: “With annual growth exceeding 20%, the executive education, MBA and EMBA programmes have made a significant contribution to EDHEC’s development both in France and abroad. Throughout this strong growth dynamic, we have continually focused on one key element, namely, to have a positive impact on business by helping the managers and business leaders we train to successfully carry through their personal and professional transformation.”
EDHEC EMBA Programme Directors set out the aims of the programme, and presented the content of the various modules and the modus operandi for the individual consulting project. In the afternoon, the participants split into groups for a first workshop on interpersonal communication techniques and the concept of resilience and its different forms.
