New partnership agreement signed with King's Business School for the Global Manager Certificate
At the end of May, EDHEC was delighted to welcome to its Nice campus a delegation from King's Business School, the business school of King's College London, with which in addition to a classic student exchange collaboration, it recently signed a new Global Manager Certificate (GMC) partnership as part of the EDHEC International BBA programme. In the second year of the EDHEC BBA Business Management programme, EDHEC BBA students will have the opportunity to spend six month in London and obtain the Global Manager Certificate delivered by King’s Business School.
Three questions to representatives of King's Business School, Dr Robyn Klingler-Vidra, Associate Dean, Global Engagement, Mr. Dan Maggs, Head of External Engagement in King’s Business School and Ms Jacqueline Armit, Deputy Head of Global Mobility.
Could you tell us more about King’s Business School?
Dan Maggs
King's Business School is part of King's College London, a part of its 43,000 students. King's College London is nearly 200 years old and the business school started in 2017 as the 9th faculty at Kings. The reason we started a business school was really to take advantage of all the opportunity that London provides. Not just about connecting to business, but about connecting to government, to third sectors, to organisations, and also to the other eight faculties of the College. Our work is not just about teaching business subjects, but it's about creating intersections between business and the many other disciplines at King's.
Dr Robyn Klingler-Vidra
At King's Business School, our ethos focuses on responsible and sustainable business. This is in line with the King's College London dedication for almost 200 years to being in service to society. We are thought leading and conducting cutting edge research and teaching programmes that are focused on ESG management. We're also leading in terms of integrated programmes with other faculty across Kings, for instance, a master's in medtech.
How do you view the partnership between King’s Business School and EDHEC ?
Dan Maggs
International mobility is part of who we are and we're delighted to be partnering with EDHEC Business School to create student exchanges. We actually hope to create much richer and deeper partnership than that, for example in research. We're looking forward to welcoming EDHEC Business School students, and working towards deepening our collaboration.
Dr Robyn Klingler-Vidra
EDHEC Business School is a leading global partner for us. Integrated, deep partnership across education, research and impact.
Jacqueline Armit
When King's Business School was founded in 2017, there was going to be a new undergraduate programme, flagship programme for the business school, the BSc in International Management.
My Global mobility team and I was tasked with finding some suitable partners. I had the chance meeting with a member of EDHEC Business School in St Petersburg and we talked about a student exchange. So EDHEC was one of our first partners and it's an absolutely fantastic internationally renowned business school. To have EDHEC as one of our partners for this brand new degree programme was brilliant.
How do you integrate and welcome international students into King’s Business School?
Jacqueline Armit
We talk about a London orientation, how they get around, what hints and tips they need to make the most out of living in London. We give them specialist advice on how to register with a doctor, how to open a bank account. They have access to all of the student services that a regular King's degree seeking student has. And they'll have something more specific, so there'll be an academic member of staff and also some of the administrative staff there as well, to kind of bed them into King’s Business School.
Dr Robyn Klingler-Vidra
Welcoming inbound international students into my classrooms is terrific because they bring different perspectives coming from other institutions and enrich the learning environment within King's Business School and vice versa. They are part of the King's community, are involved in student societies and are going to public events and talks and getting involved with our Entrepreneurship Institute. It's an enriching environment for everyone.
