A Transformative Experience

For Jeewon Oh, a student in the MSc in Global & Sustainable Business, the visit was inspiring. "As a student who studies sustainable business, it was really inspiring to see how companies are actively committed to solving sustainability issues, especially those related to the environment and climate change," Jeewon shared.

The visit kicked off with an immersive simulation titled "Paris 2043", leveraging 360-degree projections to illustrate the potential impact of climate change.

"The projection made the simulation feel incredibly realistic," Jeewon noted. "It showed scenarios like abnormal temperatures exceeding 40 degrees and electricity shortages due to depleted energy resources—issues that felt imminent and deeply impactful."

Behind the Scenes at EY

Students were introduced to EY’s cutting-edge work in sustainability through a company tour that combined interactive exhibits and presentations. These showcased how everyday choices could lead to a less sustainable future, encouraging attendees to consider the wider impact of their actions.

The event also featured lectures and workshops led by EY consultants, including EDHEC Alumni.

"The workshop was particularly impressive," Jeewon recalled. "It gave us a glimpse into the consultants’ methodologies for measuring ESG performance, building strategies, and implementing them. It was a great way to see their core working principles in action."

Bridging Theory and Practice

The visit highlighted how closely EDHEC’s curriculum aligns with practical, real-world applications.

"What we explored at the EY ImpACT Lab was very much aligned with our coursework," Jeewon said. "Topics like the circular economy, sustainable sourcing, and industry transformation are regularly discussed in class. It was reassuring to see these concepts applied in real-world contexts, especially through tools like double materiality analysis."

The connection between academics and industry was further emphasised through networking opportunities with EY consultants. Engaging with professionals who had once been in their shoes offered valuable insights into the evolving landscape of sustainable business.

Value of Partnerships

This collaboration between EDHEC and EY highlights the school’s dedication to preparing students for meaningful careers. "These types of events are truly motivating for students,

Shaping Future Leaders

Reflecting on the experience, Jeewon emphasised its lasting impact on her career perspective.

"It motivated me to think like a consultant—analysing business cases from different angles, considering various stakeholders, and anticipating unforeseen effects when implementing strategies. This mindset is crucial no matter where we land in our careers."

Inspiring the Next Generation

For students considering EDHEC, events like the EY ImpACT Lab visit demonstrate the school’s commitment to integrating academic rigor with experiential learning. By exposing students to industry leaders and hands-on experiences, EDHEC ensures they are not only prepared for the future but equipped to shape it.

As Jeewon concluded, "Thank you for this opportunity! It was a powerful reminder of the importance of sustainability in business and the role we can play in driving change."

This partnership between EDHEC and EY exemplifies the value of connecting education with real-world impact, inspiring students to lead with purpose and innovation.
