Bio

Jana Thiel is an Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at EDHEC Business School. Her research interests are at the intersection of entrepreneurship and strategy. Specifically, Jana’s work explores how entrepreneurs conceptualize and implement strategy in technology contexts. She also is also interested in venture team dynamics, especially how entrepreneurial teams organize and structure their joint production.

Prior to joining EDHEC, Jana held positions at ETH Zurich and was a visiting lecturer at Imperial College Business School. Jana holds a PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and comes with practical entrepreneurial experience. She has been the co-founder of the B2B SaaS business in the social marketing domain.

Jana’s teaching focuses on entrepreneurial competencies underlying the structuring and execution of venturing activity in both technology ventures and established corporations. Jana is also regularly coaching founders on business concept design and founder team contracting.
