Meet Gilles Schepens, an 2017 EDHEC Alumnus from the MSc in Financial Engineering. Currently serving as a Credit Trader at Société Générale, in London, we were delighted to have him return to our Nice Campus for the Alumni Insights event. This series serves as an opportunity for alumni to share their career paths with current students of the MSc in Financial Engineering programme.   

Dr Emmanuel Jurczenko, Director of Finance Graduate Programmes is the EDHEC Faculty Coordinator of this global doctoral course. He said: “We are delighted to be part of this community focused on educating in the area of sustainable finance and embark into it a few of our PhD in Finance students and alumni who will be active participants. By engaging in this collaborative effort, EDHEC demonstrates its dedication to preparing future finance professionals and researchers to make an impact on the responsible business and sustainable finance" 

Meet Eric Mortier, a student enrolled in the Global Master in Management – GETT programme, currently in his final year at UC Berkeley Haas, California. His journey into this programme was sparked during his preparatory classes in Commercial Economics (ECE) when Michelle Sisto, former Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, presented the Global Master in Management - GETT programme. The programme's global scope and its prestigious partnership with Berkeley immediately captivated Eric, setting him on his current academic path.

Meet Hugo Pasquier, a  2021 graduate of the Master in Management, Finance track. In his final year, he specialised in the MSc in Corporate Finance & Banking. Hugo, now a Private Equity Analyst at StepStone Group, returned to EDHEC’s Nice campus to teach students about Private Markets, Private Equity, and Leveraged Buyouts (LBO) during the Alumni Insights session – a series of events where Alumni from the MSc in Corporate Finance & Banking address a special topic with the students of the programme. 

In 2020, Jan Shuangquan joined the EDHEC Master in Management, Finance Track. In his second year of graduate studies, he opted for the MSc in Financial Engineering as his specialization. In December, students enrolled in the MSc in Climate Change and Sustainable Finance had the opportunity to visit Crédit Agricole’s campus in Paris. Maryam Ahmadian shares insights about the programme and her experience from this learning expedition, while the academic director, Laurent Deville, provides insight into the significant opportunity of having Crédit Agricole groupe (through Crédit Agricole Caisse Nord de France, Crédit Agricole CIB, and Amundi) as a corporate sponsor for this programme.

In 2014, Liu Ximeng joined EDHEC's Master in Management programme, Business Management track. In the final year of her master's, she went to Mannheim Business School in Germany for a year-long exchange programme through the school's platform. Professor Teodor Dyakov is Associate Professor in Finance at EDHEC Business School. After the successful certification of MSc in Marketing Analytics students, EDHEC Business School extends Microsoft partnership to Master 1 students enrolled in the Business Management track. Students will be able to choose and pass one certificate.

Professor Moïse Louisy-Louis teaches international accounting and finance to EDHEC’s MSc in Accounting & Finance students. He previously worked as an event-driven analyst and was affiliated to a brokerage house, advising institutional clients on large European and US mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deals.

Li Chen joined EDHEC Master's in Management - Business Management Track in 2020. In the second year of graduate school, she chose the direction of data analysis and artificial intelligence and became a Tableau campus ambassador to carry out Tableau teaching missions on campus.

Claude Cohen held numerous positions in consulting and business development for multinational corporations, including Arthur Andersen, Hewlett-Packard, and Oracle, before he became a healthcare entrepreneur. Since selling his company in 2018, he has been advising entrepreneurs, venture capitalists (VCs), and buyout funds. A Harvard MBA graduate and EDHEC Affiliate Professor, Claude teaches several corporate finance courses at EDHEC Business School, including New Venture Finance to MSc in Entrepreneurship & Innovation students.

With the help of Professor Riccardo Rebonato, his Master thesis supervisor, Pietro Zanetti, student of the Master in Management-Finance programme wrote an article for The Journal of Fixed Income entitled Does the Cochrane-Piazzesi Factor Predict? An International Resampling Perspective. Both share their experience.

Professor Maria Figueroa Armijos teaches Innovation in Sustainability Systems, a specialisation in the new MSc in Entrepreneurship & Innovation curriculum. Her academic interests lie at the crossroads of entrepreneurship, business ethics and social responsibility. Her current projects include research into entrepreneurial finance, women's entrepreneurship, crowdfunding and entrepreneurship policy. She tells us all about her class.

The MSc in Management & Leadership students were invited to challenge Adeo’s current leadership model: “All leaders model”, giving them the opportunity to apply their leadership knowledge and critical thinking skills to a real, live business case. This seminar was organised by Prof Peter Daly and Prof Julia Milner as part of their Reflexive Leadership Programme within the MSc. Louis Brondin-Laplace and his team, Lola Hecquet, Anouk Lakrouf, Jeanne Legonidec, Garvita Pandey, Jérôme Callens, Hugo Dardenne, and Olivia Gautier worked on one of the issues faced by Adeo, the European DIY leader: “How can we encourage each employee to embody their leadership model on a daily basis?”.  Their proposals won the challenge.  Louis Brondin-Laplace shares his experience.  

Professor Arnaud Dufays is an expert in Bayesian statistics. He teaches courses on data mining and time series to students on EDHEC’s Master’s in Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence programme. Both are key to the decision-making process. He tells us all about his course.

On November 7th, 2022, EDHEC’s MSc in Management & Leadership students welcomed its learning partner ADEO, the European DIY leader, to discuss their Leadership Model and launch a case study. The business case is part of their module entitled “Reflexive Leadership Programme” taught by Prof Peter Daly. The objective: analyse, deconstruct and appraise Adeo’s Leadership Model. 

Associate Professor of Marketing Arne De Keyser is an expert on customer experience management. His research focuses on managing customer experience, service recovery and digital customer care, as well as the integration of new technologies into the service frontline. Prof De Keyser teaches the Customer Management course to our MSc in Marketing Management students. He tells us about customer management and his approach to teaching.

As of September 2023, students on EDHEC's Master in Management programme will be able to enrol in the Master in Network and Telecommunications, major in Internet of Things or the Master in Computer Science, major in Data Science at EURECOM. Located in Sophia Antipolis, EURECOM is an engineering school and research centre specialising in digital sciences.

Mario Sammak graduated from EDHEC’s MSc in Creative Business & Social Innovation in 2022. He is now Country Marketing Specialist at Planet. He shares his EDHEC experience.

Diwali, well known as the festival of lights is India’s brightest, most joyous, and most significant festival in Indian culture. Students from the association Namasté français took the stage of EDHEC ‘s amphitheatre to give a glimpse of the Indian music and dance culture to a delighted audience.  

Christophe Croux is a Professor of Data Science at EDHEC Business School. His current research involves the detection of anomalies in large and complex data sets and the development of forecasting methods for big data. He teaches Statistical Methods and Machine Learning as part of the MSc in Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence.

After a few years of work experience, Annie Abraham decided to join the MSc in Corporate Finance & Banking in 2022. She wanted to seize all the opportunities of professional growth offered by EDHEC. She is the recipient of the Charpak Master’s Scholarship and the EDHEC Women in Data Science & Finance Scholarship.       

Understanding consumer behaviour is key to marketing decision-making. Master’s in Marketing Analytics students had the opportunity to experience the Vampire effect and the realities of a focus group first-hand.
